9 Imperdibili Film Stranieri Sulla Malagiustizia | aivm.it

La Malagiustizia è un tema ricorrente nelle sceneggiature hollywoodiane ed un genere di film molto amato dal pubblico. Lo dimostrano i numerosissimi titoli usciti dalla metà degli anni ’80 alla fine degli anni ’90 nelle sale.
Alcuni sono grandi classici del cinema con ampie recensioni positive di critica e di pubblico, altri hanno giudizi minori, ma rimangono godibili anche a distanza di anni.

Hurricane – Il grido dell’innocenza

Rubin ‘Hurricane’ Carter è un uomo di colore il cui unico sogno nella vita è quello di vincere il titolo dei pesi medi. Il suo destino cambia però in modo irreversibile quando viene accusato e condannato a tre ergastoli per triplice omicidio.

In prigione Carter, forte della sua frustrazione e della sua disperazione, decide di mettere nero su bianco la storia dell’ingiustizia subita. Dopo anni, questa arriverà nelle mani di un ragazzo di Brooklyn che convinto della sua innocenza, deciderà di iniziare con lui una corrispondenza dal carcere.

Il film è vincitore di un Golden Globe e nominato agli Oscar.

Il miglio verde

Il film è tratto dal romanzo omonimo di Stephen King.

La storia è raccontata dall’ex capo delle guardie penitenziarie del braccio della morte chiamato “il miglio verde”.

Il protagonista è John Coffey, un gigantesco uomo di colore accusato ingiustamente dell’assassinio di due gemelle di nove anni. L’uomo ha un carattere semplice e ingenuo che mal si adatta a un omicida e possiede poteri soprannaturali che gli permettono di guarire i malati.

Le ali della libertà

Il bancario Andy viene condannato ingiustamente nel 1947 a due ergastoli con l’accusa di aver assassinato sua moglie e l’amante.

In prigione da poca confidenza agli altri detenuti, ma fa amicizia con Red, un uomo che deve passare come lui tutta la vita in prigione. I due trascorreranno assieme vent’anni.

Nel carcere le guardie e il corrotto direttore impongono la loro legge fatta di violenze gratuite e omicidi impuniti, di nascosto dallo Stato, ma Andy riesce a riscuotere simpatie grazie ai consigli finanziari che dispensa al personale e al direttore.

In segreto Andy nel corso degli anni ha elaborato un piano ben preciso.

Devil’s Knot- Fino a Prova Contraria

Nel maggio del 1993 a West Memphis tre bambini vengono assassinati in circostanze misteriose.

Tre  adolescenti (Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley Jr. e Jason Baldwin) vengono accusati dell’omicidio  e nonostante l’assenza di prove contro di loro vengono condannati all’ergastolo.

Il film ricostruisce il processo, l’atmosfera di avversione che si creò contro i ragazzi, la condanna e infine la scarcerazione, avvenuta a distanza di 18 anni.

Presunto innocente

Con l’aiuto dell’avvocato Sandy Stern cercherà di difendersi.

Il giornalista comincia a riflettere sul caso quando scopre tutta una serie di circostanze e dettagli che non sono stati approfonditi dalla polizia né dal pubblico ministero.

Questo lo porterà a pensare che Beechum non sia il vero colpevole.

Il chirurgo Richard Kimble tornando da lavoro trova un intruso che ha appena assassinato sua moglie Helen. Richard prova a fermare l’aggressore, ma questo riesce a scappare. La polizia, non trovando segni di effrazione ed essendo Kimble l’unico erede della ricca moglie, dichiara il dottore colpevole del delitto e condannato a morte.

Durante il viaggio verso il carcere due detenuti tentano la fuga. Nel trambusto il furgone sbanda e precipita sulle rotaie di un treno. Salvatosi dall’incidente, Kimble scappa inseguito da Marshal Sam Gerard, ma invece di far perdere le proprie tracce si mette alla ricerca del vero assassino della moglie.
